Ducere partners with University of Canberra

15 Feb 2014

University of Canberra (UC) has entered into a partnership with online education organisation Ducere to provide its business school students with undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with a twist.

The partnership will give UC students the opportunity to study directly under the influence of some of the world’s most successful businesspeople and leaders via the Ducere Global Leaders Faculty.

Ducere currently provides its esteemed education programs in leadership, management and social innovation through a real-life case study methodology adapted to a course curriculum. Courses are delivered through video interviews with specialist faculty members from all over the world.

Prime Minister John Howard, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, self-made billionaire Lindsay Fox, world-renowned illusionist David Copperfield, Botswana President Ketumile Masire, Nobel Prize laureate Prof. Dan Schechtman and cable TV visionary Kay Koplovitz are just some of the globally renowned faculty members involved with Ducere.

University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Parker said the partnership with Ducere will allow UC students to expand their horizons and learn from an elite group of people, whilst retaining the high academic standards that UC prides itself on.

“The University of Canberra is committed to providing a career-enhancing learning environment for our students.

“Encouraging professional preparation for students to hit the ground running when entering a professional environment is of utmost importance, and learning from Ducere’s elite business faculty supports this ethos wholeheartedly,” Professor Parker said.

The amalgamation between Ducere and UC will start delivering courses from July 2014, with a Graduate Certificate forming the first study offering. Students will receive UC accreditation for the course, while learning from Ducere’s enviable faculty of global leaders.

Ducere’s founder, entrepreneur Mathew Jacobson is enthused by the expansion and said the partnership with UC is an exciting opportunity, adding another facet to Ducere’s tertiary course offering.

“By connecting with a prominent education provider such as the University of Canberra, we’re able to extend our unique education experience to students who prefer to study in a classroom environment rather than online, and expand our course offering to undergraduate and postgraduate courses too.

“Our courses offer students unprecedented access to some of the world’s most influential leaders. Imagine how valuable it would be for a business student to learn negotiation skills from a President or Prime Minister? It is truly a unique and empowering learning environment and we are thrilled to share it with the University of Canberra.”

Further announcements regarding the courses available through the University of Canberra and Ducere are to be revealed later in 2014.
